Product info

Goldfinches were a popular pet in 17th-century European homes, prized for their vibrant plumage, pleasant song and their status as a symbol of health and good fortune. Our Tether Print captures one of these captive songbirds perched upon its feeder using an expert mix of color, light and depth. Looking every bit like a one-of-a-kind original, this piece is actually a reproduction of a 17th-century oil painting from Carel Fabritius — a Dutch Golden Age painter and a student of Rembrandt. We’ve displayed it without glass in a classic black frame with a gilded interior edge, which adds just the right amount of shine. With its small size and simple composition, our Tether Print would be great hung solo or mixed in with some of our other vintage-inspired works for a gallery wall with a bit of history.
